Raks Awalim

Raks Awalim is an ensemble of top professional belly dancers from the Portland Metropolitan area who are extremely passionate in their commitment to expand and elevate the sacred art of belly dance. Each member of this amazing dance troupe has dedicated themselves to this art form by training with world renowned dancers such as Aziza, Hadia, and Suhaila Salimpour.

This dynamic and versatile group of dancers regularly performs at various galas, festivals, benefits and professional sporting events. Their shows are always extremely successful and have been described by audiences as “exciting and elegant”, “a pleasure to watch”, and “world class entertainment”. Through dance, Raks Awalim strives to increase cultural awareness, inspire global community, and strengthen the sisterhood among Middle Eastern dance artists.
